Don't just survive, Conquer!

When I was a kid, my father often told me that tears are very precious. So I always felt that I was the special kid because God  gave me a surplus of this salty liquid, which i can produce whenever I want. But there was a glitch here. The tears came only when I cried and I cried only when I was upset. So one day, during my bed time story I asked dad, "why do i get tears only when I cry and why not when I smile?" He gave me an affectionate smile and said, "You get tears even when you smile, when you are very happy, but you get them more easily when you are sad, because God knows that only a valuable thing can make you feel better and take away your pain even without asking anything of you. So save your tears for higher obstacles and use them wisely. " This was the first time I saw a very bewildered look on his face because he knew that as a kid, I could merely relate to what he was trying to explain. However, as time flew by and I grew up, I realized that my father...

Nothing succeeds like success

"Nothing succeeds like success"   We live in a society controlled by dogma, orthodox views and stereotypes. But has this stopped you from deciding what you want from life? Imagination has no limit, it isn't taxable. All you need is a pocket full of courage to take the lead and turn your dreams into passion and your passion into ambition. Be bold, stand strong and the world will follow you. Always remember, every story is a fairy tale and your's is no exception. You just have to remember that no matter what happens, you cannot give up and you cannot stop dreaming.  Ambitions are designed by your passion. You cannot aim for something and achieve it unless you have the knack for it. Your struggles define your success and the day you achieve even a part of what you've aimed for, know that you have started succeeding. Your journey to success has begun. You'll face multiple challenges during this journey, you'll feel like giving up just when you're o...

Depression

“I am bent, but not broken. I am scarred, but not disfigured. I am sad, but not hopeless. I am tired, but not powerless. I am angry, but not bitter. I am depressed, but not giving up.” Depression seems like a very common word these days. We often face problems in life and instead of standing up and fighting, we say that we are depressed just to get attention and sympathy from people. We see all smiles and happiness on social media and wonder, how perfect life is for people around us. We often end up thinking that it's only we who face all the problems in life, nothing has ever been good for us, we are always being bullied by life, destiny and luck and it's kind of an anathema falling upon us that we are at such a difficult phase of life. Frankly, I completely agree with each and every complain that people have about their horrible and pathetic life. I agree that troubles in life, loss of near and dear ones, wrong decisions and betrayals are few of the things that play the...

Better Yourself

"If you have time to feel sorry for yourself, to complain, to check social media, to binge watch Netflix,  then you have time to set goals, work out, prioritize sleep, make a list of  things you re grateful for and  better yourself" by @Jay Shetty I came across this quote recently on Instagram and this is so relatable to us. Every person has a bad phase in life. If a person says that his/her life is perfect, know for sure that he/she is lying. Life cannot be perfect and it is this imperfection in our lives that makes life worth living. It isn't always important that every step we take in life, every time we decide on something, every time we dare to take a risk, we will succeed. Success is difficult and every time you achieve something with ease, know that you'll value it less because you did not go through all that it takes to achieve it and more importantly you did not face enough hurdles to value it enough.  When we decide...

Friendship

Dear Stranger Thanks for introducing me to the word called friendship. I cannot thank you enough for all that you've taught me. Love, affection, faithfulness, motivation, and most of all, loyalty. It is so easy to start liking a person, but it is difficult to accept the same person for what he is along with his good and bad qualities. We often forget that there is nothing that is perfect. Humanity is imperfection and we, as humans are the perfect examples of imperfections. So why do we keep looking at the negative things in others? We do, because we think that we live in a world where we are perfect, where everybody else is just as simple as us, where there is no politics and no corruption, where people who appreciate us mean every iota of what they say. We forget that the world is a spherical illusion but like Oscar Wilde said, " it takes a great deal to see the world in all it's tainted glory and still love it", we fail to see the tainted images in ourselves. A f...

You can do better

Have you always been this perfect? Has happiness always been this easy for you? have you never ever faced any hurdles in life? Does a small and simple pen gifted by dad never give you that pleasure? Is getting love and attention the only motive in your life? Are you that simple a person? Or are you just a strong person with a simple intention? An intention to show others that you are happy, so nobody gets a chance to see the real you, nobody gets a chance to see what you're actually going through. You are strong. Print this statement in your head. "YOU ARE THE BEST" because if you can't, nobody can. You've been so strong that you never let others know what you've actually been through. You've been that rock that shatters only when it falls down the cliff, not when it is moved or displaced by some mild wind or gush of water. Life has been so hard on you that you no longer feel the pain within you. Life has made you tough, not because it was hard, but bec...

Women's Day

Do we really need a special day to celebrate women? Is it really that small a deal to be a women? Is it really that delicate a topic to create controversies? I say NO! Being a women is a blessing. With no offence to the extremely supportive opposite gender, women today are undoubtedly no less than men. Name a profession and you have a lady there. Gone are the days when women were the delicate, beautiful, submissive, stylish, ornate homely beings whose sole intention was to keep men happy. Today, women know what they want from life. They define their boundaries and definitely know what exactly they want from life. Be it a homemaker or an HR, women are breaking the dogma and going out there to prove themselves, to achieve their aim. Today men and women go hand in hand and needless to say, men are also the supporting pillars for their wives, sisters and mother in every field. This is something that should be appreciated. Of course we cannot ignore the male chauvinist part of the story...
