Depression

“I am bent, but not broken. I am scarred, but not disfigured. I am sad, but not hopeless. I am tired, but not powerless. I am angry, but not bitter. I am depressed, but not giving up.”

Depression seems like a very common word these days. We often face problems in life and instead of standing up and fighting, we say that we are depressed just to get attention and sympathy from people. We see all smiles and happiness on social media and wonder, how perfect life is for people around us. We often end up thinking that it's only we who face all the problems in life, nothing has ever been good for us, we are always being bullied by life, destiny and luck and it's kind of an anathema falling upon us that we are at such a difficult phase of life. Frankly, I completely agree with each and every complain that people have about their horrible and pathetic life. I agree that troubles in life, loss of near and dear ones, wrong decisions and betrayals are few of the things that play their vital roles in making life miserable and driving us into depression.

Let's assume that all of the things mentioned in the paragraph above are true. Now ask this question to yourself and be very honest while answering it.
Q:: Is it your fault that brought you to this point in life, today?

If your answer is a "YES", then you know that it's all because of you. And if you've ruined it, then you're the one who needs to fix it. Mistakes and wrong decisions are a part of life. All of us are not psychics nor are we any virtuoso to be born with special abilities to see the future and to know what is right or wrong, every time we take a decision. "To err is human" and we should never forget this. But as a person with a heart, we should take the responsibility of our mistakes. Because that's what makes all the difference.
Apologize, when you hurt people
Cry, when you hurt yourself
Empathize, when you feel somebody else' pain
Search, when you lose something
Talk, when there's a  misunderstanding
Accept your mistake, when you know you are at fault.
All that matters is how well you try to mend your mistakes, and that's what makes you feel better about yourself. The word "depression" does not exist unless you nurture it. Everything is broken only to get fixed, you stand in a bad situation only so that you realize the value of the better one and work towards achieving it.

If your answer is a "NO", then you know that whatever has happened, hasn't happened because of you. So why do you have to blame yourself and suffer because of it? Instead, get up,  move forward and face it. You are strong and no matter whoever tried destroying you today will some day get the same for himself. When you don't make a mistake, you don't reap the fruits of it either. So why worry about it? Things will get sorted ultimately and you'll soon be where you deserve to be, if not today then maybe tomorrow.

So in conclusion of today's thought here's a quick motivation dose for you,

"We are what our thoughts have made us,
So take care of what you think
Words are secondary.
Thoughts live, they travel far. "
